Who we are...
Select & Protect were formed in 1983 in the City of London. Since then, we have pioneered the sale of General Insurance through intermediaries, such as Financial Advisers and Insurance brokers.

Insurance Industry Rate Increases

For the past three years we have maintained the Select & Protect home insurance premiums without the need for rate increases outside of index linking and our customers have benefited from this work with Norwich Union, our underwriters, to ensure that our premiums remain some of the most competitive available. 

As you are no doubt aware, the recent flooding which affected thousands of people in many parts of the UK had a quite devastating impact on those homeowners affected.

These flood events alongside rising construction industry costs and the storms experienced in January 2007, resulting in increased claims has unfortunately meant the pressure on current household premiums to increase will work their way through to our customers.

It has not been an easy decision to make however as evidenced by the number of insurers who have notified their intentions to increase household premiums, we will be making a small increase with effect from 1 September 2007, to all home insurance premiums.
